More of a Prologue than a Prequel

Daimon: A Prequel to Half-Blood (Covenant) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I read this before the first book and it does sell you on continuing the story. Daimon goes into detail about the events that lead to Alex’s return to the covenant. It has a decent story and some nice action sequences, but it’s lacking is substance. It would make more sense as a prologue or the first chapter in Half-Blood, helping to build and develop the story, instead of starting the first book in the middle of a fight scene. I felt like it wasn’t enough for a stand alone even at the low kindle price. It was really short, a good fifth of my digital copy is dedicated to the bonus first chapter of Half-Blood.

Save yourself some money and wait for it to be a freebee.
