I don’t even care if a book is considered middle grade when it’s as good as The Seven Realms Series. If high fantasy is your thing don’t let the placement of this book sway you since some stores will have it shelved with the teens while others in the children’s section. I think the characters, intricate story lines, and writing are YA, but entertaining enough for the YA at heart population. I equally lover her urban fantasy series The Heir Chronicles, which CWC will be adding to now that The Seven Realms Series is at the close. If you’re a fan of Graceling, The Study Series, or of anything Maria V. Synder then The Crimson Crown and it’s prequels are for you.

Navigating the cutthroat world of blueblood politics has never been more dangerous, and former streetlord Han Alister seems to inspire hostility among Clan and wizards alike. His only ally is the queen, and despite the perils involved, Han finds it impossible to ignore his feelings for Raisa.
